Welcome to the Discover Islam section of my site mahmoudtaji.com, this section of the website is directed to those who might be interested in getting to learn more about the religion of Islam.
If this is your first exposure to the Religion of Islam then let me first give you a few basic points about our belief. First that we believe that Islam is essentially the same religion that Allah (Arabic for God) has revealed to his Prophets and Messengers throughout the ages. Meaning the religion of Islam started with the Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) and got upgrades and changes until the final version was revealed to Messenger & Prophet of Allah Mohammed was sent.
For anyone who grew up in a Church or Synagog a quick flip through the Quran will show you familiar names that you’ve read in your books of scripture.
Muslims are required to believe in all the prophets of God or else their faith is considered faulty (and are thus not considered muslim); The Prophets we believe in Encompass but are not limited to the prophets Adam, Noah, Abraham, Ishmail, Issac, Jacob, Moses, David, Soliman, John (the baptist), Jesus and of course Muhammad peace be on all of them. Those are Anglicized versions of the names we use but are close enough to be recognizable.
Unlike the Jews we believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) is the Messiah and a mighty prophet and messenger of Allah. But unlike the majority of Christians we do not believe he is the son of God. We believe in his Miraculous birth and we greatly revere his Mother the Virgin Mary. We believe in his second coming but we do not believe he was crucified. We believe he was given the gift of curing the lepers and bringing life back to the dead with the will of God.
If you have ever wondered what your purpose on this earth is and why it is that you exist, Allah has already answered this question 1,440 years ago in the Quran in the Chapter called Al-thaariyaat (51) verse (56)
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
And I have not created the Jinn and mankind but that they should worship Me.
